After a successful evening last year, the poetry showcase is back! Join us for an evening of poetry and music at Waterloo Tea.

Stephen Payne, local poet and author of Pattern Beyond Chance, will compere the evening and introduce poets Philip Gross, Fiona Moore and Helena Nelson. There will also be music from Kevin Brennan.

Philip Gross has published twenty collections of poetry, including A Bright Acoustic (2017) and The Water Table, winner of the T.S.Eliot Prize 2009. He is a keen collaborator, and a science-based collection for young people, Dark Sky Park, comes from Otter-Barry Books, July 2018.

Fiona Moore's first collection The Distal Point has just been published by HappenStance Press and will be a PBS Autumn Recommendation. Fiona is co-editing Magma 72 on climate change.

Helena Nelson is an award-winning poet as well as editor/creator of HappenStance Press. Her most recent book of poems was Down With Poetry! (2016)

Kevin Brennan is a full-time politician and occasional musician. The MP for Cardiff West is a member of the rock band MP4, but his musical roots are more acoustic, having written songs and played in folk clubs since he was a teenager.

Tickets for this event are £5.
