Wilmore's 1938, Penarth

Aristotle held that plot was the most important component of drama, and many modern writers agree; other authors maintain that character is the 'key' to their storytelling method. Where, then, does setting fit in?

In this practical seminar and workshop, award-winning short story writer and novelist Tyler Keevil will examine the role of place in modern fiction, and demonstrate how vital it is to the lifeblood of your story. Through contemporary examples and hands-on exercises, you will develop your skills in depicting landscapes and locations, helping you to create authentic settings that are not just the backdrop to your scenes, but an integral component of the drama.

If you're new to writing or keen to practise alongside a successful author, this workshop is for you! The workshop will begin at 10am and last for 2.5 hours with a 15 minutes coffee break in the middle.
