Last month we had a great crowd of over 40 people at Waterloo Tea for the launch of Phil Rowlands' new book 'Siena'.
Phil himself lives in Penarth with his family, and was an actor, screenwriter and producer before turning to writing fiction. 'Siena' is his first novel, but he is now deeply immersed in writing his second.
In his interview with Mel, Phil discussed his previous jobs (including roles in the Bill!) and how they led to him writing his first novel; his writing process; and why he chose the location of Siena. He also read extracts from the book, including the dramatic opening. 'Siena' is a psychological thriller about Welsh artist Sara Llewellyn and follows her journey to Italy after her husband and son are killed by chance during a shooting in London.
After his talk, Phil took questions from the audience and then signed copies of his book. If you missed the talk, bad luck! But don't worry, because we still have copies in stock.
A big thanks to Ellie and the team at Waterloo Tea once again for allowing us to use the lovely space- we can't wait for the next one!
